What is the Audiovisual Production program at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ?

The Audiovisual Production program prepares you for a career in the fast-moving media industry, right here in Southeast Texas. It blends music production, sound design, and video technology into one creative skill set. You'll learn to create multimedia content for web, video, film, animation, mobile technology, and games. Whether you want to make better videos, design richer sound, or produce feature films, this program meets you where you are and gives you a clear path forward.

What skills and credentials will I build through this program?

You'll build hands-on skills employers and four-year programs value. Your training covers music creation that supports the visual story, short-form video production and editing, media delivery formats, and professional audiovisual workflow. You'll also learn lighting, set design, single and multi-camera operation, and film editing on a non-linear editing system. By graduation, you'll finish with a portfolio and resume ready for entry-level work in the audiovisual field.

What kinds of jobs can I pursue with this degree?

This degree opens doors across the media industry. Graduates step into roles in studio recording, sound design for film and television, video editing for web content, music programming, music production, and radio or broadcast board operation. You can also work in multimedia composition, audiovisual equipment installation and repair, or sound design and video editing for games and apps. Employers include production companies, recording studios, theaters, advertising agencies, game studios, museums, and schools.

What equipment and facilities will I be able to use?

You'll train on the same industry-standard tools the field depends on every day. Students use professional digital audio workstations like Reason, Logic, and Pro Tools, plus non-linear video editing software such as Adobe Premiere and Avid Media Composer. Â鶹Æƽâ°æ gives you access to three professional recording studios, a Mac-based music production and video editing lab, and a PC-based composition lab. You can book up to nine hours of studio time and nine hours of lab time each week.

Is this program flexible for working adults?

Small class sizes and a dedicated faculty mean you get personal attention every step of the way. There are also internship opportunities, usually during your final two semesters, where you work at a local recording studio, broadcast studio, or production company. Many internships have led to part-time and full-time jobs.
